So a week ago I had a meeting with DSHS, just letting them know about our project and that we are here. Collecting bags and ready to serve. The response was OVERWHELMINGLY positive. They gave me GREAT feedback and seemed eager to get bags into kids hands.
Here are the next steps I think that we should work towards:
1. Find a corporate sponsor to put gift cards into the bags. It would be wonderful for each child to receive a new outfit of their choice.
2. Call a dentist and ask for toothbrushes. We are out!!
3. Start making the rounds at local churches and present BB, call other churches into action!!

ReplyDeleteWhat all do you put into each piece of luggage before it's delivered? Is it just the luggage? Just wondering how I can possibly be of help with some ideas that I have on helping foster children.

ReplyDeleteWe put a toiletry bag, a soft snuggly item, and a bible. I am hoping to find a corporate sponsor so that we could put a 25 dollar gift card for a new outfit in there as well, But one step at a time :)
